6 Tips To Help You Wake Up Early In The Morning

Steve Jobs said, “The most precious resource that we all have is time”. You have limited number of hours and to achieve goals you have to be really productive.

The big question is, How do we do that? Ultimately it boils down to your sheer will and reason to get up as you stare at the snooze button with those gloomy eyes. The CXOs of fortune 500 and other successful executives have created this powerful habit of waking up early in the morning. They do have a morning regime in place to kick-start their day. Jack Dorsey wakes up at 5:30 in the morning to meditate and go for a six-mile jog.

Wake Up For The Thing That Excites You

It can tough in the beginning but as you gain momentum, it becomes easier with time. There is nothing better than waking up to something that excites you. It can be anything; sketching, exercising, cycling or writing blogposts. I wake up at 6:30 am in the morning and go for swimming at 7 am. That excites me!

Try this for next 30 days in a row. Wake up early in the morning and do what excites you the most for a set number of hours (say 30 min) and you’ll be filled with excitement for the rest of the day.

You Snooze, You Loose

Make it a habit not to snooze or turn off your alarm as soon as you wake up. This will take some will to develop this habit but it’s worth it.

Don’t compromise your sleep for anything else…

…until it’s really important or life threatening. The point here is that you get adequate sleep. An average adult requires 7-8 hours of sleep. You can sleep upto 6 hours a day if you are comfortable with it. If you wish to wake up at 7 am you must sleep by 10-11 pm.

Sleep Well

Prepare one hour before you get to bed. Try not to use electronic gadgets 30 min before you sleep and do not eat heavy at least an hour before going to bed. If you prepare well for your sleep, you will get a blissful sleep which in turn won’t make you feel tired and dizzy in the mornings.

Drink water

As soon as you wake up, drink some water or lime water. I drink lime water as soon as I get up. It detoxifies the body and helps in digestion and water brings oxygen to the brain which in turn helps in waking up.

Start with a lie?!

Wake up and tell yourself that you got enough sleep! Period. Lie to your brain that you got a blissful sleep. The brain reacts to your thoughts and makes you feel that particular emotion.

Mind, Body & Soul

A lot of successful entrepreneurs start their day with some sort of exercise. They often meditate or indulge in yoga to get them charged for the day. It is a well known fact in psychology and medicine that physical movement can help in improve mental abilities.
